CNH - National Driver's License
National Driver's License for Foreigners, is a document issued for foreigners with temporary or permanent visa, in accordance with the determinations of the National Traffic Council.
The license to drive the vehicle in the country is subject to prior authorization, regardless of the type of visa. This permit may have different requirements for those who have temporary visa (even tourism or business). Normally, Driver's License is issued based on the driver's license of the country of origin, and for the same categories of vehicles.
Some Detrans have adopted the procedure for the revalidation of an international driver's license issued by a signatory country to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968. It is important to note that each Detran has the authority to decide which procedure to adopt.
Please also remember that a foreigner with a permanent visa must first obtain the temporary license to drive. Only after the issuance of the permanent foreigner's identity card will the candidate be able to obtain the Brazilian National Driver's License.
Personal Visa will take care of the process, accompanying and instructing the foreigner from the beginning with: the analysis of the necessary documentation, scheduling, completing the form, and controlling the deadlines with the public agencies.
